Minutes April 1, 2009

Call to order by President Fisher at 7:30
SFB moved to the grandstand to unload new seats for box seating.
Secretaries Report by Walters; Richmond moved and Long second to accept; Motion passed
Treasurers Report given by Roseberry; Long moved to accept; Walters second; motion passed. Long moved to pay outstanding bills; Richmond second; Motion passed
Jackie Holton gave a presentation and hand outs to the board for improvements to Premier Livestock Exhibitor; SFB will consider changes for 2010.
Dave Drake and Mike Albaneese spoke to the board about London City Ordinance 192-08. They presented concerns and possible profiling if all vendors are not checked. John Stahl board and City Council member could not answer questions from guests or Board members about the ordinance other than he stated paper work was not in place and felt the city would not act on it this year. It was decided the board would send members to the 4/16/09 council meeting to try and get answers to questions the board and concessionaires may have.
Chuck Hann gave the Sales Committee report. They request an earlier birth date for goats - to be moved from Dec 15 to Nov 15 for the 2010 fair. Walters moved and Gallimore second to change the date; Motion passed.
JFB report by Yantes. Schaller working on judges; no tack stalls for equine. Ernst reported trophies have been chosen and monies are being collected for sponsorship.
Committee Reports:
Executive: Report given by Fisher.
Building and Grounds: Report by Galllimore. Repairs from wind damage will start in two weeks. Water will be turned on next week. Presented an estimate from Peterman Tree Service to trim and remove trees $1,000.00. Walters moved to accept estimate and have all work done before fair; Stahl second; Motion passed.
Leased Facilities: by Stahl. April rentals slow. May 2nd Hazardous Waste Day.
Dave Rife reported the swap meet on track and handed out flyers.
Old Business: Walters moved to amend Laura Schaller's contract to $1.00 to cover her under the BWC while working for the SFB on the grounds. Long second; Motion passed. Roseberry reminded everyone of Quality Assurance dates April 21 and 25.
New Business: Roseberry gave everyone the OFMA Legislative Report for review.
